The Touchdowns for Children's campaign helps the Atlanta community rally behind Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, a healthcare system comprised of staff specially trained in care for children under the age of 21.

Prior to engaging with CC, the Children's team leveraged a Do-It-Yourself web software application that does great things for some fundraisers, but didn't support the level of custom process that the Children's team hoped to leverage.

As part of a collaboration with AIS Media and Realm, CC replaced a licensed software application with a custom web application, which allows people and businesses to donate, to raise support, and to spread the message in support of such a great organization. Contributors can select whether to make a one-time fixed amount, or select their favorite college football team and pledge per touchdown scored throughout the college football season. What a clever way to garner attention and support from the community!

Challenge:
The “Touchdowns for Children” campaign aimed to boost community giving. But their DIY platform couldn’t support flexible pledges or deliver an engaging donor experience.

Solution:
We built a custom platform that let supporters pledge per touchdown by their favorite college team or donate one-time. It supported individuals, businesses, and organizations—each with custom pages.

Results:

  • Simplified the giving experience across user types.
  • Created a fun, gamified link between sports and giving.
  • Supported high-scale campaign visibility.


Outcome:
Tripled donor engagement and individual contributions compared to the prior season. The program continues to be successful today, and is self-managed.
